Performs entry level to routine habilitative and rehabilitative care work with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Work involves implementing treatment programs and performing therapeutic or developmental activities. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Ensures that consumers are protected from harm or injury; reports consumer behavior and progress; develops vocational, therapeutic or development programs. Observes, supervises, and interacts with consumers to assist in the achievement of individualized goals. Teaches/trains consumers. All phases of vocational training/custodial maintenance work are completed according to the Statement of Work. May train or supervise others.
High School Diploma or GED.
Skilled in operation of computers and applicable software.
Ability to provide training and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and to work a flexible schedule.
Knowledge of client support techniques.
Ability to successfully complete CPR First-aid, SAMA and agency sponsored training.
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
One year expereince supervising or training individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
