Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (NCMHID), is a nonprofit organization committed to assisting the residents of Nueces County facing mental health and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We invite individuals, businesses, and philanthropic supporters to take advantage of a special opportunity during the Coastal Bend Day of Giving (CBDG). On November 12, from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm, you can donate to NCMHID, and your contribution will be generously matched, effectively doubling its impact.

ABOUT COASTAL BEND DAY OF GIVING (CBDG)

CBDG is a 24-hour event focused on supporting local charities that help the most vulnerable individuals in the Corpus Christi area. Contributions made through the CBDG website will be matched, up to $24,000, resulting in a total of $48,000 for each nonprofit. Matched donations can also be made during the Early Giving period, from November 4th to 11th, and will be processed on the day they are made.

ABOUT NCMHID

Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities formerly known as Nueces County MHMR was established in 1969. NCMHID is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who experience mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. NCMHID is a nonprofit organization that employs approximately three hundred individuals committed to serving the community of Nueces County. Eighty-eight cents of every dollar goes directly to client services and essential needs, including housing, transportation, hygiene products, and other basic necessities. MHID offers a 24-hour crisis hotline, a mobile crisis outreach team, and a crisis intervention team to support the community. On average MHID serves 10,000 individuals with job search, medication, counseling, and benefit support services.

Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities is proud to announce the Diversion Center will be opening up in 2025. This facility will function as a cost-effective, centralized access point for law enforcement, providing immediate treatment for individuals who do not require or qualify for inpatient hospital services. The diversion center's primary goal is to significantly reduce unnecessary arrests and prevent avoidable psychiatric hospitalizations, thereby enhancing public safety by supporting those in need of immediate care.
